Facility Use Policies & Fees


Use of Cameras During Worship Services

Persons may record or photograph worship services using existing light only. Flash photography is not permitted. Flash pictures may be taken following the service.

Policies for Use of Church Facilities

Members may use church buildings and grounds without charge. The Rector or Priest-in-Charge and Vestry must approve use of buildings and grounds by non-members.  A fee schedule for facilities use should be available and reviewed periodically by the vestry.

Alcohol Use

The use of alcohol on church grounds for functions by members or non-members requires Vestry approval (except for worship services). All persons must obtain a proper alcohol use permit from Washington County, have security present and use a licensed bartender at the function.  A damage deposit and a copy of the license is required one week in advance of the event.  A signed waiver of responsibility from an insurance company is also required.  Alcohol may be served in moderation only.

A Member is defined as an active participant in St. Mary’s congregation for at least one year.

A Non-Member is defined as a friend of St. Mary’s Church, a resident in the surrounding communities or a non-profit organization.

Commercial Use is defined as an event organized to make a profit for its sponsor or organizer, such as a community education class.   Members are expected to pay the commercial rental rate when the event they sponsor is not related to St. Mary’s mission.  If the event is related to St. Mary’s mission there is no charge for use by members.

Alcohol Deposit and License must be received a week prior to the wedding.  This deposit will be refunded in proportion to any damage.

Fees Paid.  A check for the total of all applicable fees should be received by the Church Treasurer at least one week prior to the date of the wedding.
